Wireworking..

I have wanted to do some wire working for awhile now.  I like how you can shape your own elements for jewelry and do even more creative things than the pre-made items from the craft stores.  We found a block of stainless in the garage for me to work on, so I made a trip out to Michael's today to purchase a set of jewelry hammers.  And this is what I came up with today:
I love swirls and I saw a pair of earrings I liked on pinterest that used pearls with this shape.  But I liked crystals instead.
And this is my first try at making matching swirls. Need to do a bit more work at that, but I think these didn't turn out too bad.
I made this pendant for my sister.  I forgot that she doesn't wear pierced earrings, and I don't have copper clip ons, so I made a pendant for her.  Her non-profit organization is called Raining Hope, and I found this bead from Kenya with the word "HOPE" on it.  How perfect, right?  Hope she likes it!
Here's a close up of a hammered heart.  I used some thin wire that they were going to throw out at work, I think I need to buy some thicker wire to do more pieces with.
I just love the unevenness about hammering wire, and just to let your frustrations go is awesome too.  Need to make more soon!

More Earrings

Here are some of the earrings I made this weekend.  Above is a pair made from fishing spoons.
I love finding earrings to take apart and make into something new.  I found these black and clear earrings and took them apart to make 3 new pair of earrings!  Here are two, and I'll make one more soon.

Love these little medallions.  They're just so pretty!

More Necklaces

So I realized I needed to make more necklaces, so here are a few of the ones I made tonight.

Working on more stuff

I've been working really hard on some gifts for the coming holiday season, and of course I'm procrastinating cause I just do.
So I was working on necklaces yesterday.  I have a tough time trying to figure out when I'm under pressure, how things will go together, but I think that I did ok with these.
I like the look of chain, so I'm using a lot of chain in my necklaces as opposed to just beads.  And I think it's a bit more sturdy than wire and crimping.

I also love the dangly beads, so I'm making a few of this type.

And I had a ton of bangles, and I noticed people have been putting beads on bangle bracelets.  So I'm going to see if anyone likes those.

Tonight will be earring night.  I have made a bunch already, I just need to get more creative and get some more ideas running through my head.

World Series Champions!!

The Giants won the World Series on Sunday night!!  So right after the game, I made my sister go to Sports Authority with me.  Last time they won, we went to get shirts the day after.  It was crazy, I stood in line forever.  When they won the NL pennant, I received an email saying Sports Authority would be open late right after the game.  So off we went.

When we drove into the parking lot, we saw a bunch of people from BJ's restaurant running across the parking lot to the store.  Luckily we weren't too far back in line.
And the line moved pretty quickly.  We were only in line for about 45 minutes.  Above is the line before us.
This is the line after us.  And after we got our shirts, we noticed the line wrapped around the store.
This is the shirt they wore after they won.
And this one has all their names on it.
And here's a pic of my fave...Pablo Sandoval...the Panda!!

Had a creative Saturday

I had a creative Saturday.  I was waiting for my new niece, Sofia, to come home from the hospital, so I decided to make some jewelry.  I think I was pretty productive.

I found these Raider earrings last month, and had to glitz them up a bit.  So I added some crystals and a silver bead to each.  I think they look a lot better, well, for Raiders earrings.  LOL
Here's a close up of one side.  I will make 49ers earrings as soon as they come in, cause we have to have niner earrings!
This is my new necklace.  I'm not sure what to call them yet.  Dangly charms?  I just love the look of multiple dangly charms on one chain.  You can use all five on the necklace, or one or two.  I'll be making more of these.  And just the dangly parts to change them out.
Close up of the red  I had some red hearts and the dice is always fun to have on a necklace.
I also did a blue beach themed one, cause I just love the beach and all those beach colors.
I found these great starfish charms and snail shell beads that are so fun.
I found some oval pewter links at the bead show, and decided to use them in a few necklaces.  I think it looks great with the crystal beads and the cracked marble beads.
I used all the links together on the one above.  I love the different textures.  You can also flip them over and the patterns will match on the round and oval beads.
And this is my new pink heart necklace.  I always have to have everything match, this time I did it so they were opposite from each other.  I still don't know if I like the look, but I previewed it to my friends and they love it.  :)

Today was kind of a blah day, so I didn't get anything done.  Will have to work harder this week to get more done.

More Jewelry

After I made the earrings with the dangling head pins, I thought chain might look better.  And yep, I like it better.
I also found a little key in one of the charm packs that I bought, so I added that to the mix.  I really like how these came out.  The chain makes them more flowing.
So since I had my stuff out, I made a few more pair.  The above one has pink crystal beads on the bottom, it's hard to tell that though in the above photo.
My lighting isn't all that great, so when I take out beads, sometimes I'm not too sure on the color of the beads. I like this color combination though.
And the bottom bead on this one is like a tiger eye.  I really love the earth tones.
So I used the same type of bead above with these cool red rock beads that have a white grain to them.  I really have to figure out what I'm buying.
And another necklace for my friend Sharon.  She buys me beads to make things from.  She bought the large chain and the beads.  I added the round silver donut charm and the smaller chain to this.  It's weird, cause I didn't realize how limited you are when you only have so much stuff to work with. Guess that's why I have a lot of different beads.  :) (That's my story and I'm sticking to it).
