Hot water pipes

We've been having hot water issues for awhile. So last Friday Phil decided to break open a hole in the floor to see if he could start to repair the pipes. So he spent Friday chipping and drilling the concrete where he thought the leak was in the pipes, and this is what he found, pipes wrapped in plastic bags. And he also found that instead of using curved pipe when it went from the wall to the floor, they bent the straight pipe with pliers. We're guessing they did that to save money?


This is how they bent the pipe. Parts were SO bent and squished that we were surprised that we got any hot water at all. The plastic bag obviously didn't prevent the pipes from being crushed. And where they bent the pipes with pliers, we figure that's where we're going to find all the leaks. They didn't even use a pipe bender.

So, Phil's been working on it for a few days. Yes, that means we've been without hot water since Friday. I can't wait till it's finally fixed and we can take a real hot shower!

Eydie & Kiana's visit

My sister Eydie and niece Kiana came for a short visit Monday -Thursday. They live in Southern California, and we don't get to see them very often. So it's nice when they can come up to visit us.

Let me tell you, the two of them are Power Shoppers. I mean I like to go shopping, but I'm pretty much a "let's browse around the store for a while, and move on" kinda gal. These two can stay in a store for an hour trying on clothes, maybe finding a top or two. LOL They do find the bargains though, Kiana found a purse for $4!!

It was fun cause I got to go to Japantown, I don't go there very often. And we found some really great ramen at Kumako Ramen on Jackson Street in San Jose. The noodles were awesome!! I was in Ramen heaven! LOL

Before they left, we had an eventful morning. One of the grey kittens had gotten his back foot stuck between the trunks of two trees in our backyard. The trunks were pretty thin, so I could see how he got his foot stuck. So Eydie woke me up cause she spotted the kitten. Good thing they were here cause he would have been there for awhile cause I was really sleeping. LOL

The mom cat wouldn't let Eydie near it, cause she doesn't know her. And she said while she was trying to figure out what to do, all the kittens were comforting the kitten, going up to it and licking it while it was stuck in the tree.

So I went over to it, and it was hissing and meowing. And the mom was on the fence kinda growling at me. But she let me walk up to the kitten. I tried touching his foot to get it out, but it was freaking out too much. So then I thought to pull on the trunk of one of the trees so that it could loosen it's foot a bit. That worked well, instead of having his foot stuck, he got his head stuck too. GREAT. LOL

But then it finally got its head out and took off into the ivy. Thank goodness! I could just see us trying to cut down part of the tree to get the cat out.

Rubber Stamps

I've been going through my rubber stamps the past couple of weeks. Man, I knew I had a lot of stamps, but until you go through them all, you never really know how many you have. Ok, yes, I could be on one of those shows... "She who has way too much stuff...the obsessed crafter."

And until you go through all of your stamps, you don't really know how much your style of stamping has changed, or how the world of stamping actually has changed. When I started out rubber stamping, I bought cute. Lots of cute. You like cute? I got cute. Cute country, cute cats, cute cute cute.

When I joined my rubber stamping group way back in 1997 (?), my world of rubber stamps had opened up. No longer was I stamping cute cats or Mickey Mouse. The world of collage opened it's doors to me, and I was hooked. We taught each other stamping techniques, everyone took their turn during a live chat, and we learned to stamp on candles, to use shaving cream to make fun designs, to emboss, to use stippling, you name it, we learned it.

And the change in what types of stamps I bought was evident. Lots of little flowers, antique watches, leaves, words, and very ecclectic designs were what interested me. It's so fun to see how the stamp companies grew with our ever changing needs.

I don't stamp as much any more, so I'm downsizing my collection. But there's still the stamp or two that I can't seem to part with yet. Ok, more like 10 or 20...200 or 300?? LOL

Yay for ebay!

This week was the first week of our auctions on ebay. I'm putting up some rubber stamps on ebay that I know I won't use anymore. And I realized that some of the stamps are selling for a pretty penny. I had no idea that Precious Moments and PSX stamps were going for so much!

It's really fun watching the bids go up. One stamp we were watching actually sold for $117! I was in shock. It's a PSX stamp, and it's just amazing to me that someone would pay that much for a stamp. Where have I been??

So, that's how I've been spending the past couple of Saturdays, figuring out how much things cost, what they're worth, and if anyone would really want a certain stamp. It is a lot of work. I'm just glad that I can get it to someone who really wants it.

And if you haven't already heard, Domo has invaded 7-11. Yep, he's here!! He has a slurpee named after him. It's a red apple slurpee, why? Because Domo doesn't like apples, so you'll get to drink it without him wanting to steal it from you...yep really. LOL

I've already gotten all of the straws, and a domo slurpee cup. Cause I just have to. Not sure that I want to get the figurines. But we'll see how I feel about them if I actually see one. I thought it was funny that the whole store is Domo-tized, and the workers have no idea who Domo is. I got asked who he was, and he still looked at me funny after explaining it to him.

This week I am working on finishing up the crows shirts, and I need to work on a couple of logos. My sister and niece are coming in Monday to stay at my house for the first time. So I'm going to be in major cleaning mode tomorrow (or later today). They'll only be here a couple of days, so I'll be back working on stuff on Thursday. I have a lot of ideas for things running through my head.

Ramen Girl

Yesterday I watched Ramen Girl. I have been watching the trailers for awhile now, and really wanted to see it. And while in Target, I saw that they had the DVD. So I bought it. And I really enjoyed watching it.

It reminds me of all those Japanese dramas you watch on the international channels. It really reminded me of the Manga/Anime Nana. Where she leaves her home to travel to live with her boyfriend, and he leaves her. So she has to figure out what she wants to do with her life, cause she doesn't want to go home. But she doesn't know what to do.

I won't ruin it for anyone who wants to see it, although the trailer pretty much sums up the plot of the movie. I think Brittany Murphy really looks like an anime character. LOL I really enjoyed her acting in the movie. And loved her Sensei, Toshiyuki Nishida. He played his character very well. You get as frustrated with him as she does.

It did really make me hungry for a great big bowl of ramen! LOL

I love these types of movies, if you like them, you'll really enjoy it.

Diving into ebay...

Today I put my first ever item on ebay. I am still amazed how much people are paying for old rubberstamps. And now am bummed that I didn't put some of them on ebay much sooner. I also have put some on etsy as well. Just to see which store does well.

I have so many rubber stamps, and so many that I don't stamp anymore. I figured that it would be better for someone to have it who actually will use it. Unlike myself the hoarder. It's that releasing items back into the world thing again. Can you imagine? I still am having a hard time releasing some items into the world. But eventually they will find other homes.

I've finished most of the feed store shirts, I just have to find 5 more tshirts, then deliver them all. I have a few more art designs to do as well, so I'll post those as I finish them. I want to get some things up and running, and try to figure out how to make a little ebay widget if I can.

Crows on a wire Embroidery

So a friend of mine wanted me to do an embroidered design for her with crows on a wire. I guess the group that she works with is nicknamed "Crows on a Wire" so she wanted something to do with that. So I thought of a crow telling a story, cause they like to talk story, and then the rest of the crows listening to her.

I couldn't find a good clip art of crows on a wire, so I made mine up. I was first going to do a country crow kind of drawing, but they looked too plain. This way they look a little more animated.

I think it looks kinda cute! :) I am going to embroider the wings and tails in black, but I used grey to show her the lines.

I hope she likes it.

New batch of kittens

So the mom cat had 7 more kittens. Count 'em, 7! Well, you can only see the bum of one of the kittens. LOL But OMG, I can't believe she had so many. I think she's pregnant yet again, so we can't take her in to get fixed yet. But when she's done she's SO going in to get fixed.

I like the darker grey striped one, but I think that one is more of a calico. It's got a lot of different colors in her coat.

They're getting a bit more friendly, it's really funny watching them play in the yard during the day. I love watching kittens.

Pizza Dough

Yesterday I made Pizza Dough in the bread machine. It was my second try. The first try I made a 2 lb batch of pizza dough, and used it all on one jelly roll pan. Big mistake! It was really thick. And I like thinner crust pizza.

So this time I split the dough ball in half and made 2 pizzas! I think that I should bake the dough a bit before putting the toppings on, so it will be more crispy.

This is what the second pizza looked like. We used the spagetti sauce from the night before. It had chunks of hamburger in it. So all I had to do was put the cheese and the pepperoni on top.

Here's the recipe from the Oster manual:

Combine the following ingredients into the bread maker (I put the liquids in first, then the other ingredients with the yeast last)

All ingredients must be at room temperature (70 degrees F - 80 degrees F)

1-1/4 c to 1-3/8 c Water
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
3/4 tsp salt
2 tsp. Active Dry Yeast

-Combine all ingredients into the bread pan
-Select Dough Setting
-Press Start/Stop button. When the unit signals and the display reads "0:00" press the start/stop button and remove dough.
-Pat dough into 12" x 15" jelly roll pan or greased 14" Round Pizza Pan
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
-Spread pizza sauce over dough and sprinkle toppings over sauce.
-Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

I made mine in an Oster Bread maker, yours might differ. Consult your manual.

Fremont Falcons Logo

This is the Falcons logo I was working on this week. I think it turned out pretty well. I'm going to stitch it out later and then put it on 2 sweatshirts.

I'm also working on a Crows on a Wire design plus a tennis design. So I'll let you know how those turn out later today.

What I've been up to for the past few days...

Sorry I haven't been blogging in a few days. I've been kinda sad cause our kitten Cujo is missing. Phil let him out on Friday morning, and he hasn't been around since. We're hoping that someone gave him a good home. I miss him a lot cause he was so much fun to have around. I think the other two kitties are not sad that he's gone. :( I'm still hoping that he'll find his way home, but that's pretty rare around here. But who knows, some of the other cats in the neighborhood go missing from our yard for a few weeks then come back.

I've also been working on getting the shirts out for the feed store. I am trying to figure out colors for the embroidery, because the guy says he didn't care what colors we used. GREAAAAAAAT. I know what colors I would use for me, but I don't think everyone wants purple. LOL

Also working on a logo for the Falcons football team too. Will post it when it's finally done.

Enjoyed the Lord of the Rings weekend on TNT. Although I do have it all on DVD, it's always fun having it play in the background. And I loved that they played all 3 movies in a row.

Phil went to the tournament this weekend in Davis, the girls came in second. I spent this weekend catching up on the feed store shirts and getting some rest. And hoping the kitten would make it home.

Julie & Julia and other things...

Today we went to see Julie & Julia. I LOVED the movie. Loved it cause of course it had to do with Blogging. LOL

It was so neat seeing how Julia Child began to learn how to cook. And even more interesting, how long it took to create a cookbook. OMG, just thinking of typing all those pages, and multiple times. Cause you couldn't just turn on the computer and print. It makes me remember all those years of typing high school and college papers, and thinking back then that I wouldn't have to learn how to type cause I'm going to be a drafter. How wrong I was! LOL

Loved all the food that was in the movie, made me want to eat beef bourginon. It looked so darn yummy in the movie!!

It was so interesting to see how much Julie learned not just cooking, but life lessons as well. I wish I could have read her blog from the beginning. I'll have to go and find her book.

It made me come home today and shred all of that zucchini for future bread recipes. And I remembered today that I have a food processor. DUH! Made shredding that zucchini so fast! I got a total of 16 cups of zucchini in the freezer, and 3.5 cups on the counter waiting to be baked.

If you haven't seen the movie, go out and see it! I loved it!

Zucchini Bread

So when Phil came home from camping yesterday, he handed me three HUGE zucchinis. He said that Diane has put in an order for Zucchini bread. OMG, I don't think I've ever seen a Zucchini that size before. I mean, that hand trowel is a normal size hand trowel, and the zucchini is bigger than that!! OMG, it's crazy.

So I went about finding more recipes for Zucchini Bread. I had one from Paula Deen through the food channel, but that one used 3 cups of sugar, and who really needs that much sugar in their bread??

I found a good recipe for the standard zucchini bread at allrecipes.com It was a good recipe, Phil has already taste tested it. LOL



Another recipe that I found was for Chocolate Zucchini bread. This recipe was from the Land O Lakes site. Phil just tried it and he said it was good too. Well, he said it was "Interesting" so I had to clarify, was it good? Yes, it was good. :) LOL

So from that really HUGE Zucchini, so far I got about 9 cups of shredded zucchini. And I still have about 1/3 of it left! Plus 2 more zucchinis. I'm gonna have zucchini bread coming out my ears! Good thing so many people like it, the ones in my kitchen are all spoken for, plus I have to make Diane hers. Guess the Ehara Bakery will be in full swing this week.

Caramel Rolls

These were so Yummy! DeeArland's mom made them for us on Sunday. I didn't get to see her make them, and she doesn't have any measurements cause, she just throws it all together. They were really yummy!

She put Dark Brown Sugar in a pan, I think she lightly packed it in a pan. Then poured in some heavy whipping cream and mixed it with the brown sugar. Phil says it was a soupy like consistancy.

Then she put refrigerator biscuits in the mixture. She says the smaller ones work the best, not the ones like the grands, but the smaller regular biscuits.

She then mixed together sugar and cinnamon and sprinkled that on top of the biscuits.

They are then put in the oven I think it was at 350 degrees. Throughout the time it baked, she turned them over a few times. I think you bake them for however long the package says. Just keep flipping them.

Then when they're ready, you turn them over onto a plate or another pan lined with foil. I would turn them over onto like a jelly roll pan then put them on a plate. They were very gooey and very good!

Cheese stuffed burgers

After watching episodes of Triple D (Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives), Phil made these yummy Cheddar Cheese stuffed burgers. OMG, they were so yummy and HUGE!

He started by taking ground beef and making a patty. Then we cut up some Extra-sharp cheddar cheese and put it in the middle. Then you take another patty and seal up the edges really well. You don't want to have molten cheese all over the bbq instead of inside the burger.

Then he grilled them on the BBQ. I don't normally eat cheese on my burgers anymore, but MAN, this was SO good!! Having the cheese inside the burger just changes the taste of it, and made it a lot yummier.

We served them on kaiser rolls. We're gonna try grilled onions and mushrooms next.

Niles Flea Market

This past Sunday was the Niles Flea Market. They have it every 4th Sunday in August. And it's really fun and interesting. Down the main street there are booths of antiques and now different types of clothing, art, you name it, they've got it. It started out being just an Antiques faire, but there are a lot of booths selling new items now. Most of the houses in the surrounding neighborhood have garage sales. So not only do you get to find really fun things on the main street, but you get to see what everyone else in the neighborhood is willing to part with.

I found these really cute beverage bottles. They're tiny! And they're filled with the actual drinks. I love coke bottles and anything coca cola, so I just loved checking the different bottles she had out there.
I loved these treasure chests. I love how they're painted. They just look like treasure chests! I would love to paint one up like the red one. LOL I need a treasure chest like I need a hole in the head, but these are just so beautiful!
Speaking of treasure chests, while walking back to Jackie's house, I looked up into the trees of this one home, and there was a Pirate ship! Yep, a pirate ship tree house! So of course, being a Japanese Tourist, I had to take photos of it!!

Look at how pretty she looks! Love the details, like the skull on the end and the chain hanging off.
And you can't have a pirate ship without a pirate flag. It was just so awesome to see it up in the trees!

Rack for Paints

This is an oldie but goodie. I painted this paint rack for Phil's sister quite a few years ago. Ok, a lot of years ago. She wanted fun things painted on the side of it for decorations. So I found these birds and things in some book somewhere, and painted them on.


I forgot how cute it was! LOL So she was going to sell it at a garage sale, and I snapped it up before it could go anywhere. Mine is not so painted. Troy actually made these racks for us, and they hold quite a bit of those little bottles of acrylic paint.

Man, that was a way long time ago, I think Alex was a baby when we started taking painting classes. Makes me want to start painting again...

Like I don't have a ton of other projects to work on. ;)

Embroidered logo from a photo...

I have been working on the logo above lately. A friend of ours asked us to redo the logo. All I had to work with was a photo of the logo on a sweatshirt.


No artwork, just drawing the whole thing from scratch. So into AutoCAD it went. I know I could use other programs to draw the logos, more arty ones. But AutoCAD has been ingrained in me for so many years, that if I can't get a line to go exactly where I want it to go, I get frustrated. Cause, "Why can't I put the line right here and have it go right there and connect??" Art programs really get me frustrated because I KNOW in autoCAD I can put lines where I need them to go EXACTLY where I need them to go.

And I've learned that outlines are way better to do then to fill in all the spaces with color. It's just another process to delete all the colors, or sometimes they get in the way.

So, I uploaded the pic, cropped it and made the color go away so I could see things better, then redrew it in AutoCAD. And then exported it out, imported it into the digitizing program, fiddling with the lines on that, then filling in the stitches, and then working on the outlines...it's finally done!!

Man that was a lot of work!! I know some people like to think it's an immediate process, but that is so far from the truth. You can't always just take a photo, load it in, and you have an embroidered logo. There are a few steps in between that you don't even realize is going on.

Life is easier when you have a nice crisp large black and white logo. Little tiny logos that look big on webpages aren't really that big when you import it into the computer. Only cause when you load them onto webpages, you normally have to make it smaller to have it load faster, so not as many pixels.

So, I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I hope they'll be happy too.

Dream Book 2009

I was so excited to find the Hallmark Dream Book at my local Hallmark store. Every year I get so excited to see the new ornaments. I've been collecting ornaments since my cousin and aunt opened their stores, so many years ago. I know I can see the book online, but it's not the same as holding the paper book in your hands.

I look at it for hours and hours wondering which ones I'll buy for the year. The ornaments have changed so much since they were first created. When my cousin closed her Hallmark store a couple of years ago, she had so many ornaments for sale from so many years back. It really was like looking at a Hallmark museum. They are made so much better now, with so much detail. And so many fun motion or sound ones.

My favorites are the Star Wars series of ornaments. I have almost all of them, I only missed a couple from last year. I am so excited that they have a Han Solo one! He was my favorite on the series. I mean who didn't just love him?
And the landspeeder is too cool. I would have loved it a bit more if Obi-wan was there as well as C3PO and R2 strapped to the back. LOL I guess that would have been too much detail.
For Kay, here are two that I know she'll love. The Nightmare Before Christmas, it is awfully cute!
And the Corpse Bride. I've never seen the Corpse Bride, but I know she loves it.
I can't wait till all the ornaments are released. I also love going into the store to see them all in person, because sometimes the photos do not do them justice at all.

TJ & Laura's Wedding

Yesterday we went to TJ and Laura's Wedding. We've known TJ and the Gibsons for over 20 years now. I met them through Phil's family, and he actually met them through TJ playing baseball with Phil's nephew. Then they all started playing softball together. I just can't believe how much everyone has grown. I mean I still picture the kids as well, Kids!

They were married in San Ramon, and it was a beautiful day for them. Not too hot, not a cloud in the sky. It was a beautiful day!

USB Geek

On one the tweets I received from Pikko, there was a bento box USB flash drive. Now, I don't know why but I am so facinated by all things that will plug into a USB port. Or should I say, I'm so amazed at what they will create to plug into a USB port. Above is one of the cooler ones that I found. The USB connector actually will retract into the unit. I just love that you can wear it as jewelry and no one will know that it's a thumb drive. it's called a red cube USB drive.

I love the little sushi thumb drives. how fun is that to plug sushi into your computer. A bit bulky to carry around with you, but what a conversation starter. :)

the USB Circus Cannon is just FUN. I don't know why I love USB cannons, they are just too fun! I think it's all those years in the engineering office where we wished we could have had something like that to throw stuff over cubicle walls. This is cool, controlled by your computer, it rotates 360°, and will tilt 45°. It even has sound effects. Too darn cool.

And this cracks me up. I want a little bitty fridge to put next to my computer. And that is what I would have in it, one can of coke. LOL It says it takes 5 minutes to bring the fridge down to 47° F. How fun is that? If the kitchen wasn't next to my computer, I would SO have this on my desk.

So if you have the soda cooler, you really need this Beverage cooler and warmer. Keep your soda cool in a glass, or your coffee/tea hot in a mug. I have always wanted a beverage warmer, cause sometimes I forget that I have tea, and it gets cold. This is a great idea!!

Heart spot

Well, we've renamed the kitten. His name is now Cujo. Why Cujo? Well, everytime I go out there, and he's in a playful mood, he just ATTACKS me. It doesn't hurt, more annoying then anything. He's growing up so fast though, I think he'll be taller than the other two. I figure he'll be moving into the house as soon as we can get him his shots.

Anyway, I noticed something really cute on him while he was sleeping. His spot on his side looks like a heart.

Here's a close up of his "heart". It's really neat cause it was a circle shape before, and it's now changing a bit. I don't know if you can see it, maybe if you squint your eyes and tilt your head to the left... LOL

Anyway, thought I'd give you the Cujo update. He's so cuddly and cute! I'm glad he decided to stick around. Phil even gets a bit worried when he can't find him in the yard for too long of a time. I think that is cute. LOL

stitched logos

These are what the logos look like stitched out. I didn't have the correct blue, but we'll fix that when we do them on whatever we're gonna do them on. I really liked how the bears logo turned out. I get really excited when it turns out well. I know, it's the little things. LOL But it kind of goes with my techie background. I love seeing the things I drew out on paper actually made into something tangible. It's always so awesome seeing things in real life. So, when an embroidered logo turns out well, I'm happy.


I changed the feed store logo a little bit. I put CLOSE on top in larger letters with Feed & Supply smaller on the bottom. It looks a lot better to me. And I have to tighten up the animals a little bit, the stitches weren't close enough together for me. Plus you can't see the pig's face, so I'll have to adjust it a bit. I think it's cool that I can tell that's a goat, duck, horse, rooster, bunny, lamb, and I think that last one is either a goose or a turkey. the pig is just a blobby to me.

Embroidered Logos...

These are a few of the logos I've been working on lately. The one above is for a local feed store. I scanned their business card cause they wanted the animals on the bottom. But of course the logo is really small once you scan it in the computer. So I enlarged it and redrew it. I'm finding that is the easier way for me to get logos created.

Because unless you have a really good copy, when you take a photo of the logos, or even scan them, they get really grainy and take a lot of work to clean up. I was frustrated at first when I had to clean up logos for different people cause it really took a long time. But once I realized, duh, I can redraw them, life has been so much easier.
And these are two versions of logos for a local football league. The team I'm working with is the Bears. So they use the Chicago Bears logo. So, I redrew the logo from something I found on the internet. The version below was the first submission. And the one above is a redesign. They wanted the lettering to go around the "C".
It's really fun learning how to create all these logos. And I am getting a little bit faster each time, and learning more about the software. Tomorrow will be my day to try these out on the machine to see how they will embroider. So more updates tomorrow!

SF Gift show

Today I went to the San Francisco Gift show with my two cousins, Tina and Leah. It was so interesting to see what is new and interesting at the show. This year it was set up differently than previous years. It was set up like different areas of San Francisco...ok. LOL

It was interesting to me to see so many vintage items. We had a favorite store in Los Gatos that just closed, and in it were so many different vintage items. And part of the gift show this year reminded me of that store. Lots of vintage button jewelry, items made from vintage books and clothing. Many Eiffel towers and fleur de lis too.

A lot of booths had the scrabble tile pendants. I've been looking at those on etsy for awhile, and it was interesting to see so many booths with them.

Also lots of green products like the Stainless steel water bottles. Which are interesting to me because we went from having metal canteens, to plastic water bottles, to stainless steel water bottles. Things kind of go in a circle sometimes. Lots of reusable shopping bags. All shapes and sizes. Many different patterns and materials. And a really neat pencil made from recycled newspaper. Very cool.

And it was interesting to see a lot of embroidered items. Embroidered towels, aprons, hats in so many different themes. It was inspiring to me to see what can be done with embroidery. I'll have to get my creative gears churning to make stuff for Christmas. I mainly was interested in how they could do their embroidery with little or no stabilizer showing in the back. Did they use tear away? Cause I know they didn't use the cutaway I've been using. And I loved all the different patterns and sayings.

Flyers in Stockton

Today the Fremont Flyers were in Stockton. It was a bit warm for me, so I didn't take a whole lot of photos. I got this one of Lexi which was cool. LOL

I thought Alex and Melissa looked really cute with their matching orange sunglasses.

And I just loved this photo of Alex.

Debi's niece Shania is visiting from Colorado. She's just so cute and fun.

We had a great time today, the team didn't win any of their games today, but there's always tomorrow!

Family Pagoda

We finally put up the Ehara Pagoda today. My grandfather used to make these in his home in Kauai. He had wooden molds that he would put mixed concrete into. They would dry into these beautiful pagodas. I can remember, as a kid, driving around Kauai and seeing these in the front yards of homes. And I would always think to myself, "My grandpa made that."

Before he passed on, he spent a few months with us here in California to teach my dad how to make them. I remember them discussing how much sand, cement, and rock to use. And how to stamp it down into the molds. It is a very long process to make just one, and I can remember going into the garage with them to watch how they would make the pagodas.

This pagoda was actually made by my dad and grandpa. It was in my aunt's house in San Francisco, but she decided that one of us girls should have it, so it's at our home right now. The bottom part looks a little newer, cause it is. LOL We couldn't get the base off of the rocks in her yard, cause they cemented it down. So we just took one of the bases he had in the garage.
